2024 BLAKELY ROCK BENEFIT RACE

Please note a change in approach to class breaks & elibibility below, effective 3/22/23 and reflected in the current NOR (linked below):

Eligibility:
a. PHRF-NW Flying and Non-Flying Sails Divisions: Open to all boats with valid PHRF-NW certificates.
b. Slooper Division: Open to STYC members without PHRF-NW ratings.

See the STYC GSI for details on each division. The Slooper division is not eligible for Overall Awards or the Roland Littlefield Church Performance Trophy.

This race is dedicated to Carol Pearl. Carol was an STYC member for 39 years.  She was past Commodore, club historian, champion, mentor, friend and involved in organizing this race for as long as anyone can remember.

Join us for the Carol Pearl Blakely Rock Benefit Race. This race is one of the biggest races in the Puget Sound, with up to 150 boats participating.

For the 2nd year, our beneficiary is Footloose Disabled Sailing who share our mission in getting people on the water.  Launched in 1991, Footloose Sailing Association (Footloose) is the Northwest’s premiere sailing program for people of all disabilities, their friends, family, and caregivers. Footloose is dedicated to bringing independence on the water and competence in the sport of sailing to the physically and mentally disabled.  Footloose honors those who have served our nation in the armed forces.

This is a fundraising event. The way funds are raised this year will be a little different than previous years, putting part of the fundraising in the hands of the skippers. We encourage all of you to register for the race, make a donation directly to Footloose Disabled Sailing and encourage your friends and family to do the same!

To make a donation, visit https://footloosedisabledsailing.org/donate/select “Donate”, and enter “In Memory of Carol Pearl + Your Vessel Name” in the "leave a note" box.

*** The top two fundraising boats will win a free haul out, courtesy of CSR Marine and Seaview Boatyard!

Shirts: The 2024 Blakely Rock Benefit Race store is now open for race gear.  The choices are available through March 26th and then the store will close at that time.  Any orders made after March 26th, will have to be shipped directly to you and you will incur the applicable shipping charges.  For orders made through March 26th, we will be saving folks shipping costs on all gear by picking up the orders ourselves in Anacortes.  All gear will be distributed to the customers in 2 ways only.  We will not be able to arrange deliveries anytime before the morning of the race nor after the awards ceremony on April 13th:
